Maybe the better question would be, “Why wouldn’t you want to volunteer at camp?!” Each summer Comeca depends on an army of volunteers to make sure that campers have the best week of their lives. In addition to our well-trained, paid summer staff, each week we rely on many volunteer counselors. And before camp begins for the summer, we rely on the help of volunteers during Work Days to get camp ready for summer ministries.

“Okay, so I get that you need volunteers to make camp happen, but why should I volunteer at camp?”

Well first off, volunteering your time, talents and energy is one of the easiest ways to play an active role in the daily ministry of Comeca. Volunteering at camp is always fun, exciting and unbelievably rewarding! Where else can you help a camper conquer their fear and fly down a zip line, win the respect of an 8-year-old boy with the splash from your cannon ball, and plus share the love of Christ with a camper—all in the course of one day? Volunteering at camp is one of those opportunities where you can make a big difference just by being there. It is a place and time where you can change a life just by letting God use you to make a difference.

“Alright, so I get that it’s important to volunteer, but what if I can’t commit to volunteering in the summer for a whole week?”

Well, there are all sorts of ways that you can volunteer at Comeca throughout the year. Schedule your church, or bible study group to come for a work weekend. We have projects for skilled and unskilled workers a like. You could become a Camp Advocate for your church. Plan or help with a special event at your church to raise money for camper scholarships. The reality is that there are a many ways that you and your family can volunteer your time, talents and energy to help campers experience Christ at Comeca.
